Intelligent people like you already know that there’s a lot more to the human being just the part that we can see, hear,
and feel. The fact of the matter is that there are aspects of the human body that we are just beginning to discover.
Modern medicine seems to be missing the fact that the human body has healing abilities that will keep us healthy and
happy if we only give them the opportunity to work.
A prime example of this can be seen in ancient healing traditions like Traditional Chinese Medicine, which has been in
existence for over 5000 years. Acupuncture and acupressure are two of the treatment methods that amply demonstrate
the fact that, when the body’s healing energies are harnessed. Think about it – points on the body are either needled
or touched, causing a host of healing processes to be set in motion that western science is just beginning to understand.
Harnessing the Healing Power of Opposites
The concept of Yin and Yang is one of the most fundamental and profound theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The concepts of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements provide the intellectual framework of much of Chinese scientific
thinking especially - in fields like biology and medicine.
Illness and pain are seen as a disturbances in the balance of Yin and Yang or the Five Elements caused by emotions,
heat or cold, or other influences. Therapy thus depended on accurate diagnosis of the source of the imbalance.
The Yin Yang Symbol
This Yin/Yang theory extends beyond philosophy and medicine to all that is. The idea of opposites is found in many
areas of life that you are already familiar with.

Table of Yin/Yang Opposites
So what does this have to do with Relieving Pain?
One of the most stunning things the world has learned in the past several decades comes from the discoveries of
modern physics – We are all made of energy!
In fact, energy is all that there is. Matter, as we experience it, is really an illusion. It’s an illusion that works very well for
us, but it’s an illusion nonetheless.
By its very nature, energy wants to move. It moves through the world around us, it moves through the Universe, and it’s
meant to move within each one of us.
According to the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, when energy gets stuck in our bodies, it causes imbalances in
the body’s entire network of energy systems. When this happens, dis-ease begins to form.
Pain is one of the body’s early warning systems, which is meant to alert us to the existence of such an energy imbalance.
Pain is the result of stuck or blocked energy.
Now I can almost hear you thinking, “wait a minute – I just fell and banged my elbow and it hurt like crazy. That wasn’t
caused by stuck energy!” Well, yes it was. Sudden trauma causes energy to get stuck in much the same way that a beaver
dam causes water in a creek to get stuck.
Illness, stress and environmental factors can also cause the energies of our bodies to get stuck or to become imbalanced.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way that we could remove this stuck energy that causes pain so that the pain would go
away without having to resort to pain killers?
Well, guess what – there IS!
Putting the Theory of Opposites to Work for Us
Look at the Table of Yin/Yang Opposites above. Remember also that these Yin/Yang qualities are characteristics of
everything there is – including you and me.
Notice from the Table of Yin/Yang Opposites that movement inward and the left-hand side are both associated with Yin,
while movement outward and the right-hand side are both associated with Yang.
Then, it could be reasonable for us to conclude that energy flows into our left hand and out of our right hand, as shown in
the figure below.
Energy Flow Directions
So how can you use this to relieve pain? Simple!
Suppose you have a friend that is experiencing pain in their knee. It doesn’t matter what the cause of the pain is, because
pain is associated with stuck energy or too much energy.
Simply place your left hand on the area of the pain of the person you want to help. Be aware that your left hand, which
pulls energy in, is siphoning off the person’s pain. As you hold your left hand on the painful area, hold your right hand
down, out and away from your body and away from the person you’re helping. Be aware that the pain is draining off your
right hand.
If you feel the energy getting stuck in your own body instead of siphoning out of your right hand, stop immediately and
vigorously shake both hands as if you’re shaking water off of them. You can also hold your hands under cold running
water up to your elbows.
In most cases the energy from the pain of the person you’re helping will pass straight through you easily and naturally.
The most amazing thing about pain siphoning is that you don’t have to try to do it, any more than you have to try to
breathe. It’s a natural process that is part of The Healing Power of Being Human and we all share this inborn ability.
Now it’s Time for You to try it. Watch the video clip below and then find a partner and try the pain siphoning technique for
youself. It’s easy, safe and you can’t make a mistake. You’ll be amazed at how well it works. Although the ones that will
really be amazed are the people you help with this technique.
Pain Siphoning is just one of the safe and effective Energy Healing techniques that are available to you.
