Arthritis Pain Relief - How to Decrease Chances of Arthritis

What Causes Arthritis?

It's a fact. One of the most common causes of pain can be summed up in one word - Arthritis. However, pain relief from arthritis is not as common as you might think. A little known fact about arthritis is that over one hundred diseases that affect areas both in and around the joints are associated with this all too common ailment. Second only to heart disease, the second largest cause of inability to work is, you guessed it, arthritis.

Those afflicted with this disease often believe that nothing can be done to relieve the symptoms of arthritis. However, there are ways that can help to relieve this painful condition. Pain management has proven to successfully help by teaching us how to avoid everyday things we do that aggravate the condition. As the body ages, wear and tear takes its toll. Sometimes this is from natural causes while at other times arthritis is caused by the overuse of certain joints. A key factor in managing the prevention of arthritis is to maintain a healthy weight.  This can aid in preventing a condition called "early onset arthritis." It is however, important that you take care of your body regardless how you feel. Don't wait for the signs of arthritis to appear.

Ways to Prevent or Decrease Your Chance of Arthritis

Just remember, be good to your body and it will be good to you.  This is a key to preventing early onset of arthritis. Keeping an eye on the future time when your body is not as young as it used to be is important. If you abuse it, it will eventually abuse you. Maintaining good health and healthy habits will prevent arthritis from attacking you for a much longer time.

Some ways to decrease your chances of suffering from arthritis pain:

Remember, excess weight will surely cause wear and tear at an earlier stage in life due to the toll it exacts on weight-bearing joints. By maintaining an even body weight those joints, the spine, knee, feet, ankles and hips, will take longer to erode.

Another important preventative measure is to exercise regularly. When we don't exercise regularly our muscles weaken. This will in turn place more strain on those all important joints. Regular exercise allows muscles to do the work they are designed for.  Joints are not meant to do what muscles do.

Equally important is not to over-exercise. If you overuse your joints you can injure them.  Don't save your exercise for one day. Do exercises several times a week. The key is moderation. Again, let your body tell you, not you it.  A consistent schedule will work wonders for you.

Our bodies want and need water. It's a source of all life and well-being. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated.  A smart diet will also compliment and assist your efforts to prevent early-onset arthritis.

An informed decision is always best.

Herbal Supplements - Once again, an informed decision is always best. If you feel that prescription medications are not for you then you may want to consider herbal remedies. Magnet Therapy - If may be worth your time to "bone-up" on this fascinating subject and see if it is an option for you.

Acupuncture - Yet another resource to consider. A skilled acupuncturist can work wonders for many people.

Acupressure - Similar to acupuncture, but using fingers and thumbs in place of needles. There are  sources available that teach acupressure methods that you can use on yourself for pain relief. There is no substitute for human touch in activating the acupuncture points!
