What a Beaver Dam Can Teach You About Pain...
You don't realize it yet, but in the next 2 minutes you're going to learn a new way of thinking about pain - what it is, and how to relieve it.

We all have experienced pain at some time in our lives, and collectively we spend hundreds of billions of dollars each year trying to find relief from it.

This "relief" can come in the form of over-the-counter medicines, prescribed pain-killers (often narcotic) or even surgery. But very often, the pain remains... and sometimes gets worse!

Picture this for a moment: imagine that a family of beavers has built their dam in a stream near your home. The water begins to back up, and your property is in danger of being flooded.

So what do you do? You call the local experts who deal with backed-up water, of course, and tell them about your problem. They survey the situation and tell you that they have a solution.

To your amazement, their solution is to paint all of the windows in your house so that you can't see the rising water any more!!

"If you can't see the rising water, then it won't bother you", they tell you - with a totally straight face!

But even though you can no longer see the rising water, you know that it's there, and that sooner or later it's going to cause you very serious problems.

Okay, you're probably wondering what all this has to do with pain. Right?

And you should be wondering, because it has EVERYTHING to do with pain!

Just suppose for a moment that the way most doctors treat pain is like painting over the windows, as in our example above. They prescribe a pain killer with the idea that it will deaden the pain and you won't notice it as much.

Now, allow yourself to imagine a scene - a scene that is the painful area in your body.

You've taken the pain medication that the doctor ordered, and now the area doesn't hurt as much... but the cause of the pain is still there! This cause is pooling and backing up just like the flood water in our beaver dam example.

Pretty soon, whatever is causing this pain is going to grow to the point that simple pain killers aren't going to do the job, and the doctor may prescribe stronger pain killers, or even surgery!

If you're like most people, at some point you're going to ask the question, "why do I continue to use these pain killers if they aren't relieving my pain and they're making me sick from their side effects?"

Not only do such treatment methods often not work, they can cause side-effects that are as bad as the pain itself!

When that happens, what is your doctor likely to do? Maybe prescribe a new medicine to treat this new ailment, which is really from the pain medication you're already taking - and now you're in a downward spiral toward more and more serious (and preventable) health problems.

And the longer you confine your options to the standard drug and surgery approach to pain relief, the longer you will continue to suffer.

Do you know what the definition of insanity is? It's doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!

So What Does the Beaver Dam Have to do with Pain?

The fact of the matter is that there is a network of tiny channels called Meridians that run throughout your body. These channels serve as communication lines that carry a subtle form of electromagnetic energy throughout your body.

This energy is well documented and has been the foundation of traditional forms of healing throughout the world for the last five thousand years.

This energy that travels through your meridians is meant to move in a well-defined manner. If anything happens that causes the flow of this energy to be blocked (even partially blocked), excess energy begins to gather "upstream" from the location of the blockage - kind of like the water in the beaver dam story.

Muscle and joint pain - whether from an injury, from arthritis, or other causes - are common examples of blocked energy in a meridian (or meridians).

When an energy blockage occurs, excess energy gathers, and pain occurs as a result.

Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a way that you could remove the energy  blockage yourself?

Wouldn't it be fantastic if your pain disappeared because you had the means to remove these energy blockages all on your own?

A Not-So-New Definition of "Sedating"

When we hear the word "sedate" we think of taking a drug - a sedative - to calm us down and perhaps knock the edge off of our pain. But there is another definition of "sedate" that is at least five thousand years old!

Let's talk about the Meridians again for a moment. Meridians can be "tonified" (strengthened) or they can be "sedated". But the definition of the word sedate, as we're using it here, is to allow the meridian to release excess energy.

Sedating a meridian helps it to release any excess energy it may be holding on to.

So if you were able to figure out which meridians are associated with a part of your body that is in pain, you could sedate the meridian and relieve the pain. Makes sense, right?

But how do you figure out which meridians relate to which parts of the body?

And even if you did know that, how are you supposed to how to sedate the meridian?

Here's the best news of all -- you don't have to know any of this!!

This web-based tool does all of that for you - and it shows you exactly how to sedate the meridian that is associated with the painful parts of your body.
